Most "crypto subscription" tools don't actually charge your customers automatically. They email an invoice every month and hope the customer pays it. That one difference decides your churn more than any fee.

We compared the leading crypto recurring billing platforms in 2026 on the things that matter for a subscription business: whether renewals are pulled automatically, who holds the funds, what you pay per charge, and which chains and stablecoins your customers can use.

Quick verdict

  • Best for automatic stablecoin renewals, non-custodial: TidePay

  • Best for crypto plus fiat bank settlement in one dashboard: BoomFi

  • Best for accepting 300+ assets: NOWPayments

  • Best for regulated EU merchants: CoinGate

  • Best for Solana-first creator storefronts: MoonPay Commerce (formerly Helio)

Full disclosure: TidePay publishes this guide. We've kept the comparison to facts you can check on each provider's site, and we link to them below.

Comparison at a glance

What to look for in a crypto recurring billing platform

  1. Automatic pull vs. invoice reminders. With auto-pull, the subscriber approves a spending allowance once and each renewal is charged on schedule. With invoices, the customer gets an email every cycle and must pay by hand. Every missed email is a cancelled subscription.

  2. Custody. Non-custodial platforms move funds wallet-to-wallet. Custodial ones hold your balance until you withdraw, which adds counterparty risk, withdrawal fees and account-freeze risk.

  3. Stablecoins first. Subscriptions priced in USDC, USDT or EURC keep the amount stable each month. Volatile coins make recurring prices awkward for you and your customer.

  4. Network costs. Pulls on Ethereum mainnet can cost more than the subscription. Low-fee networks such as Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism and Solana keep every charge cheap, and some platforms cover gas for you.

  5. Total fee per charge. Compare the percentage and any fixed fee. A $0.25 fixed fee is 2.5% of a $10 subscription.

  6. Dunning and retries. Wallets run dry. A good platform retries failed charges and tells you, through webhooks, when a subscription is past due.

  7. Onboarding. Some platforms require full business verification (KYB) before your first charge. Others let you start billing right away.

The platforms, reviewed

1. TidePay

TidePay is built for one job: stablecoin subscriptions that renew on their own. The subscriber connects a wallet, approves once, and every later cycle is pulled automatically and sent straight to the merchant's wallet in the same transaction.

  • Pros: True auto-pull on EVM and Solana. Non-custodial, so there is no balance to freeze or withdraw. 1.0% per charge with no fixed fee, 0.8% above $25K/month. Gas covered by the platform on standard plans. Split payments to up to 10 recipients per charge. No-code Paylinks, an embedded checkout widget, a REST API with signed webhooks, and paid Telegram community access. Merchants can start billing without KYB.

  • Cons: Stablecoins only (USDC, USDT, EURC), no volatile coins. No built-in fiat off-ramp; merchants cash out through a provider of their choice. Five networks, not dozens.

  • Best for: SaaS, creators, communities and membership businesses that want monthly revenue to arrive without chasing customers.

2. BoomFi

BoomFi is a broad crypto payments suite with one-time and recurring payments, payouts and bank on/off-ramps for EUR, GBP and USD.

  • Pros: Fiat bank settlement in the same dashboard. No-code, API and white-label options. Payment recovery for failed charges.

  • Cons: A fixed $0.25 on every charge hurts small subscriptions. Fiat settlement doubles the fee to 2% + $0.25. Its docs describe scheduled invoices, so check how renewals work for your customers.

  • Best for: Businesses that need crypto collection and fiat payouts under one provider.

3. NOWPayments

NOWPayments is one of the best-known crypto gateways, with 300+ supported assets and a subscriptions product.

  • Pros: The widest coin coverage on this list. Fiat deposits and auto-settlement in a currency you choose. Discounted rates down to 0.3% on custom terms.

  • Cons: Renewals rely on emailed invoices or on customers topping up a balance on the platform. Both depend on the customer acting every cycle or trusting a third party with funds.

  • Best for: Merchants who must accept many different coins, where recurring revenue is secondary.

4. CoinGate

CoinGate is a Lithuania-based gateway that holds MiCA crypto-asset service provider authorization from the Bank of Lithuania.

  • Pros: EU regulatory standing. Fiat settlement and free SEPA withdrawals. One-time and scheduled invoices.

  • Cons: Recurring billing works through scheduled invoices rather than automatic pulls. Payouts, refunds and conversions carry extra fees.

  • Best for: EU merchants for whom regulatory status outweighs automated renewals.

5. MoonPay Commerce (formerly Helio)

MoonPay Commerce grew out of Helio, a Solana-first checkout for creators and online stores.

  • Pros: Polished hosted checkout and storefront tools. MoonPay's brand and on-ramp reach.

  • Cons: Subscriptions renew manually: customers get a monthly email and approve each payment with a wallet tap. Fees aren't published on the product page.

  • Best for: Creators selling content and products, mostly on Solana, who can live with manual renewals.

What about Loop Crypto? Loop offered allowance-based crypto subscriptions but wound down its standalone platform after joining Lead Bank, with service ending on February 13, 2026.

Which platform should you choose?

Pick by the problem you're solving, not by the longest feature list.

If you need…

Choose

Monthly stablecoin revenue that renews without customer action

TidePay

Revenue split between partners, creators or affiliates on every charge

TidePay

Crypto collection plus fiat payouts to a bank account

BoomFi

Acceptance of hundreds of different coins

NOWPayments

An EU-regulated provider above all else

CoinGate

A Solana creator storefront with manual renewals

MoonPay Commerce

If recurring revenue is the core of your business, start with the renewal mechanism. A platform that relies on emailed invoices loses some subscribers every cycle, no matter how low its fee is.

FAQ

Can crypto payments really be recurring? Yes. On EVM chains the subscriber grants a token allowance once, and the billing contract pulls the agreed amount each cycle. Solana supports an equivalent delegate approval. The subscriber can revoke it at any time from their wallet.

Is it safe for my customers to approve an allowance? A well-built platform limits pulls to the plan amount and schedule. Customers keep their funds in their own wallet and can cancel or revoke whenever they want.

Why stablecoins instead of Bitcoin or ETH? A subscription needs a predictable price. USDC, USDT and EURC hold their value, so a $30 plan is $30 every month for you and your customer.

Can customers dispute a payment? On-chain payments are final, so there are no chargebacks. Refunds are sent by the merchant from their own wallet when needed.

Do I need KYC or business verification? It depends on the provider. Custodial gateways usually require full verification. TidePay is non-custodial and lets merchants start billing without KYB.

What happens if a subscriber's wallet doesn't have enough funds? On TidePay, the charge is retried automatically and the subscription moves to past due, with a webhook so you can follow up.

Editor notes (remove before publishing)

  • Confirm BoomFi's renewal mechanism. Its docs say "invoices on schedule"; a March 2026 Payyd comparison says it uses token-allowance auto-pull on EVM.

  • Confirm NOWPayments' fee. Its subscriptions page says "from 1%"; the Payyd comparison lists 0.5%.

  • Check MoonPay Commerce fees and supported chains; neither is on its product page.

  • Confirm gas coverage per TidePay plan. The FAQ says "unless stated otherwise on your plan".

  • Confirm EURC is live on TidePay; the homepage names only USDC and USDT.

  • Add 2–3 screenshots: TidePay checkout approval, dashboard subscription view, Paylink creation.

  • Re-check every competitor fee on the publish date and update the "as of" month in the comparison.
